Our Story

We’re here for you.

In 2015, Nekeyta Brunson founded ShesUnCovered, to help women and girls find their beauty, confidence, and community.

Nekeyta was diagnosed at a young age with Alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. After hiding for 25 years, Nekeyta’s journey with Alopecia gained recognition. Her expertise in wigs, weaves, hair wraps, style, and confidence resonated with other women, revealing a shared need for support and community.

Later, she became a licensed Esthetician and realized she could create the community and change she wished to see. Baldness in women is not talked about enough or supported enough.

ShesUnCovered offers personalized experiences for women who are struggling with hair loss. By partnering with other women who provide services and safe spaces, we aim to help women recognize their beauty is more than their hair. All women and girls affected by hair loss deserve to feel beautiful and confident.

Whether it’s helping you scale back your creativity, refine it, or bring it out, we can help you blossom into your most confident self. Nearly everyone knows someone who will undergo health-related hair loss due to alopecia, stress, cancer treatments, or other conditions. We conduct workshops, seminars, and training for private and corporate groups to teach you how to support people in their healing journey.
